Summer Interns/Program Supervisor
Jump into summer with an Intern Leadership role designed for college students and recent graduates, helping to coordinate a fun, high-energy Parks Program for kids ages 6–14! Gain valuable real-world experience in staff supervision, program management, and recreation operations—both out in the field and behind the scenes in the Recreation office
- Salary: $20/hour
- Benefit Status: Not Benefit Eligible
- Employment Dates: 6/8/26-8/14/2026 (10 Weeks)
- Hours Worked: 40 hours per week x 10 weeks = 400 hours
Job Description: Responsible for coordinating and operating the Recreation Summer Parks Program, including direct supervision of 2–4 seasonal staff members and oversight of children ages 6–14. This role provides hands-on leadership experience in youth program management, staff supervision, and daily operations. Interns will spend approximately half of each day in the Recreation office supporting full-time staff and gaining practical experience in municipal recreation administration.

Seasonal Staff
The City of Watertown’s Recreation Department has multiple seasonal opportunities available. These opportunities are perfect for motivated individuals interested in making a positive impact in the Watertown community. These opportunities are ideal for college students, aspiring teachers or coaches, and active individuals interested in sharing their passion for athletics, STEM education, arts and crafts, and many other activities with people of all ages. Interested candidates must be available to work approximately 8-15 hours per week depending on their position, including after school and weekends. The Recreation Department hires for a variety of positions for five different programming sessions. Please see positions and sessions listed below. When applying, applicants must designate which position and which session they are interested in.

Watertown Recreation is excited to introduce a new Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program for youth ages 13 and 14. Please note that this is not a paid position. CITs will participate as volunteers and may earn community service hours that can count toward graduation requirements.
This program will include a separate application and interview process, and acceptance is not guaranteed.
